Meeting Ground Rules

Meetings are always held on Mondays except when Sponsors request alternate days

1.
-We will start on time  (6:30 P.M.)
-Agenda will be announced at the start of the meeting
-Time keeper assigned to help keep meeting on schedule
-One person speaks at a time on pass around mic
-Please be courteous and professional-when others speak please listen!
-Please place all pagers and cell phones on “silent”. No cell phone calls will be allowed during meeting.

Many people have asked me why we meet on an irregular basis as opposed to a monthly schedule. Here is why.
The structure of our association is unique. Our association is a networking association. All of our meetings are free and sponsored by manufacturers, vendors and local dealers.
Most associations have dues and monthly meetings. They have officers and committees. Charging dues has legal, tax and accounting implications. Having officers and committees gets complicated and involved. I prefer to keep it free and simple.
To have a monthly meeting puts time demands on members and they can get somewhat complacent about attending regularly scheduled monthly meetings. I would rather make the meetings meaningful and of value to those who do attend.
To plan and orchestrate monthly meetings becomes very time consuming and I have to devote most of my time to running my own business.
Meetings have better attendance when they are focused around products and services our members use and are interested in.
Therefore, meetings are held when we get sponsorship from a manufacturer or vendor in our industry. I  have to plan far ahead to work with their schedules and availability. This is how I keep the meetings free and valuable to members. So meetings are scheduled with those things in mind. Suggestions are always welcome.
Sincerely,
Bob Perl, President
